 Introduction to LED Energy-saving Lamps
Using high-brightness white LED light source, LED energy-saving lamps are a new generation of solid cold light source, which are featured by high luminous efficiency, low power consumption, long service life, easy to control, free of maintenance, safety, environmental friendliness and soft, bright and colorful light color, and are used for long-time lighting in households, shopping malls, banks, hospitals, hotels, restaurants and various public places
 High efficiency and energy saving: The lamp consumes only several KW in 1000 hours (A common 60W incandescent light consumes one KW in 17 hours and a common 10W energy-saving lamp one KW in 100 hours).
 Super long service life: Semiconductor chip emits light; no filament, no glass bulbs, not influenced by vibration, not easy to break and long service life—up to 50,000 hours (A common incandescent lamp can only be used for 1,000 hours and a common energy-saving lamp only 8,000 hours).
 Harmless to human health: The light ray does not contain ultraviolet light or infrared and does not eradiate (Ordinary lights contain ultraviolet and infrared).
 Green: Containing no harmful elements such as mercury and xenon, the lamp is easily recycled and does not produce electromagnetic interference (Ordinary lamp tubes contain mercury and lead; electronic ballasts of energy-saving lamps produce electromagnetic interference).
 Eyesight protection: DC driven, no strobe (Ordinary lights are AC driven and inevitably produce strobe).
 High optical efficiency: Little heating; 90% of the electrical energy is transferred into visible light (80% of the electric energy of a normal incandescent lamp is transferred into heat energy and only 20% of it is transferred into light energy).
 High safety: The lamp needs small voltage and current and generates little heat. Without hidden safety trouble, the lamp is applicable to mines and other dangerous places.
 Disadvantages of LED Energy-saving Lamps when Compared with Common Energy-saving Lamps

 When driven by AC, LED energy-saving lamps have strobe like common incandescent lamps do, but common energy-saving lamps have no strobe. Strobe makes eyes fatigue.
 The light beam of LED bulbs are too bright and are irritating to eyes, so that it can not be directly viewed, not even for a short time. The light beam of common energy-saving lamps is comparatively softer.
 The illumination angle of LED lamps is restricted to only 120°; while the common energy-saving lamps can illuminate almost 360°.
 The room lightened by LED lamps is not brighter than that of the energy-saving lamps, because LED lamps are of high brightness only in directly-viewed angles and the brightness is quickly weakened when offset from the angle.
Therefore, when used as interior lighting tools, LED energy saving lamps are not better than common energy-saving lamps, but when used as flashlights, reading lamps, spot lights and other occasions when only small angles of illumination is needed, LED lamps are better choices.
 How to Choose LED Energy-saving Lamps
 LED lamps with different brightness are priced differently. The LED used for LED lamps should meet the standard of laser class I.
 LED with strong antistatic capacity has a long service life, and therefore it is priced higher. Generally only the LED with antistatic capacity higher than 700V can be used for LED lighting.
 LEDs with same wavelength have identical colors, and the price will be higher if identical color is needed. The LED manufactories without spectrophotometers can hardly produce lamps with pure color.
 LED is a one-way conductive illuminant; if there is reverse current, it is called leakage. LED with large leakage current has short life and is priced low.

 LEDs for different purposes have different light emitting angles. Lamps with special light-emitting angles are priced higher. For instance, the LED lamp with full scattering angle is priced high.
 The key factor of quality is service life, which is determined by luminous decay. Small luminous decay results in long service life, which results in high price.
 The illuminant of LED is chips. Different chips are priced differently. Chips made in Japan and the US are expensive and usually those made in Taiwan and mainland China are cheaper.
 The size of chips is expressed in side length. LEDs with large chip sizes are better than the ones with small chip sizes. The LED price is directly proportional to its chip size.
 The colloid of common LED is usually epoxy. LED added with anti-UV and fireproof agents are more expensive. High quality outdoor LED lighting should be anti-UV and fireproof. Each product is designed differently for different purposes. The reliability designs of LED lighting include but not limited to: electrical safety, fire safety, environmental safety, machinery safety, health safety, safe use. Electrical safety should comply with relevant international and national standards.
 Energy saving: LED lamps consume only 1/10 of energy of incandescent lamps and only 1/4 of that of energy-saving lamps.
 Long service life: One LED lamp can be used over 100,000 hours. For ordinary home lighting, it is “One Buy, Forever Use”.
 LED lamps can work in high speed.

 LED lamps are cold light source and in solid package, so they are easily transported and installed. They can be put in any micro or closed devices and not influenced by vibration, no need to consider heat dissipation.
 LED technology is progressing daily. Its luminous efficiency is making amazing breakthroughs, and prices are constantly lowered. Time of white LED is coming.
 Environmentally friendly: LED lamps contain no harmful substances like mercury. LED lamp assembly components can be easily disassembled and recycled.
 Light distribution technology expands LED light source from spot to area. It increases light-emitting area, eliminates glare, improves visual effects and eliminates visual fatigue.
 Integrated design of lens and lampshades: The lens gathers lights and protects the lamps, so that it avoids light repetition and simplifies and beautifies products.
 Plane packaging of high-power LED and integrated design of radiator and lamp holder guarantee the LED heat dissipation and service life and meet the random unique design of LED lighting tools.
 Significant energy saving: Using ultra-bright high-power LED light source and high-efficiency power supply, the LED lamp saves power over 80% that of traditional incandescent lamps and if with the same power, its brightness is 10 times higher than that of the incandescent lamps.

 No strobe: Completely DC operation, eliminating visual fatigue caused by strobe of traditional light source.

 Impact resistance and thunder resistance, no ultraviolet (UV) or infrared (IR) radiation, the LED lamp is harmless to human health. Without filament or glass case, the LED lamp tube doesn’t break like the traditional lamp does.
 Working under low thermal voltages, the LED lamp is safe and reliable; surface temperature ≤ 60 (When the environment temperature Ta = 25).
 Wide voltage range, globally universal. 85V~264VAC constant current in full voltage range ensures that the service life and brightness of the lamp is free from the influence of voltage fluctuation.
 PWM constant-current technology makes the LED lamp of high efficiency, low heat and high precision of constant current.
 Reduce line loss, no pollution on power grids: Power factor ≥ 0.9, THD ≤ 20%, EMI in line with global index, reducing the power loss of power supply lines and avoiding high frequency interference pollution on power grids.
 With universal standard bases, the lamps can directly substitute existing halogen lamps, incandescent lamps and fluorescent lamps.
